My Fit Tip: Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia!

Chia seeds are a freakin’ miracle.

I add them to smoothies, salads, hummus, juices, yogurt, and EVERYTHING in between. A spoonful keeps me full longgg after a meal, so I snack less and eat smaller portions more comfortably. Additionally, they give me a ton of lasting energy.

Other than weight loss and portion control, chia seeds have tons of health benefits. They can help reduce blood pressure, are rich in omega-3s, and are easier to digest than flax seeds.

How do they work to help keep you full without weird diet chemicals? Well, chia seeds absorb water — actually, they absorb ten times their weight in water! This turns them into a bulky gel in your stomach, contributing to fullness. Better yet, that gel is packed with healthy fats and protein.
