Fit Tip Tuesday: Overdrink, Don’t Overeat

water It’s hard not to overeat when we’re faced with a delicious meal, especially at restaurants. It takes the body about 20 minutes to realize it’s full, and we’ve usually already surpassed what we need by that time.

By drinking a full glass of water before eating a meal, you slow down your eating process. It moves you out of the busy world and into the mindset to eat. The water will also help you eat less food, so you avoid overeating. It’s sort of like a reset button!

So, when you sit down to eat, whether at home or at a restaurant, make it a force of habit to drink an entire glass of water before even touching your food! You’ll see a massive change in how much you eat, and even what you choose to eat almost immediately!

I legit have an overhydration problem haha. I drink sooooo much water to a point where my body has adapted and I am perpetually thirsty. I went to the doctor and she was like uhhhh maybe you shouldn’t drink so much water? I know, I’m so weird. Wish I could give the rest of the dehydrated world my problem!

Oh totally! This is in the context of right before a meal. So, when you’re already hungry, the water will fill up your stomach not only to keep you from feeling hunger, but more so to slow down how fast you eat. It also takes up a few minutes of the initial eating time, which doesn’t hurt! :)
